Tim Alfonso is a 2018 MIF/RHP with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from North Barrington, IL who attends IMG Academy. Slender young build. 7.07 runner, has quick feet defensively and works through the baseball well, good footwork and balance, gets rid of the ball quickly, has a loose arm that is projectable with added strength. Right handed hitter, spread stance, almost too spread for his height, loads his hands deep, long arm generated swing, handles the barrel well and hits to all fields, line drive swing plane. Also pitched, compact arm action with a high 3/4's arm slot, polished on line delivery with good hip turn and balance, clean mechanics. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 77 mph, throws his fastball to both sides of the plate and has good command. Curveball is a nice pitch, gets over it well with hard downer rotation and some bite. Lots of things in place to keep improving, just needs to get stronger. Very good student.
