Liam Evans is a 2017 SS/1B, 3B with a 6-3 178 lb. frame from Gurnee, IL who attends Carmel Catholic High School. Large frame, lean, slender build, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.39 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, smooth actions through the ball with efficient footwork. Developing arm strength up to 78 mph with pace to actions. At the plate, wide base, open stance, slight crouch, medium hand set, and a quick leg lift timing mechanism. Line drive swing plane with an all fields approach. Torques well through lower half with raw bat speed. Will improve with additional fluidity and timing of barrel release.
