2016 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Bobby DeMeo is a 2018 SS/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Carver, MA who attends Boston College HS. Large frame with a strong, athletic build. Frame projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.07 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop, travels low with smooth, athletic footwork. Funnels the baseball cleanly out front with fluid glove to hand exchanges. Showed good range to each side with the ability to throw with accuracy on the run. Throws generated good carry across the infield with developing accuracy while throwing from a set position, topped at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high back elbow set. Lower half has linear actions creating shift into contact. Hands works to contact on a compact, direct path generating a line drive plane through extension. Creates occasional leverage at contact when front side trigger is on time and engages baseball out front. Has the present bat speed and strength to drive the baseball through the opposite field gap. Tools will continue to develop with repetition and mechanical refinement. Good student as well.
