Josh Morgan is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Georgetown, KY who attends Sayre HS. Tall and slender young build, has some strength in his lower half with less in the upper half. 7.04 runner, has a loose arm from the outfield, can work through the ball more quickly. Right handed hitter, spread straight stance, hand drop load with tight hands through his swing, hand drop load, low ball hitter who has some leverage and strength on pitches down in the zone and can drive the gaps, could get extended better through contact, projects as a hitter with additional strength and adjustments. Also pitched, drop and drive mechanics, high 3/4's arm slot, repeats his mechanics well and has good balance through release. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, has some late sink and run. Throws both a curveball and a slider well, curveball has nice 12/6 downer shape and good depth, slider has some tilt and power to it, very consistent with release slot. Projects as a pitcher as well. Good student.
