Max Barger is a 2016 RHP/ with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends San Marcos. Large, solidly-built frame with good present strength as well as good projection remaining. Pitcher-only, threw from high 3/4 slot with medium-length arm action and solid looseness throughout arm action. Has some crossfire in his delivery that adds to deception but can inhibit command at times. Threw strikes consistently with both pitches, showing ability to get to both sides of the plate as well. FB worked 74-77 with solid life to arm side as well as solid overall command of the offering. Primary offspeed pitch was a CB, showing very good overall feel for the pitch. Able to generate good spin on the pitch with good 11/5 shape and depth. Got swings and misses on both FB and CB, as well as weak contact. Very good student.
