2005 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Cory Lee is a 2007 IF/RHP from Fort Bend Austin in Richmond, TX, with a 5'11'', 150 lb. frame. He has long legs for his frame and hasn't started to fill out yet. Lee is a 7.68 runner in the 60 and threw 70 mph during infield drills. He has good, fluid actions in the field and a smooth arm action. Lee's arm strength profiles him to second base. Lee hits from a calm, upright stance at the plate and has very good balance through his swing. He uses his hands to hit and has some lift and extension to his swing out front that might project to future power. Lee's swing is tension free and he has a bit of bat speed that will keep improving as he adds strength. He made solid contact to the middle of the field and looks like he's a good young hitter who will continue to develop. Lee also pitched and showed a 78 mph fastball from a drop and drive delivery style and a high 3/4's release point. He threw a big breaking 62 mph curveball as his off speed pitch and did a good job of locating his pitches. Lee is a good student as well.
