Robert Hales is a 2018 2B/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Tampa Jesuit HS. Good size and height with a physically projectable frame to add strength to the build. Primary second baseman with deliberate actions. Clean glove work with solid fundamentals and the ability to make the plays. Arm strength is still developing but throws were accurate across the diamond. Lefthanded hitter with a spread, open stance. High hand set with a high back elbow and a direct path to contact. Easy swing with fluidity to the swing path. Line drive swing plane and stays on plane well through the point of contact. Athletic in the box and repeats the swing well. Power will continue to improve as he adds strength to the overall frame. Good student.
