Patrick Cuccurullo is a 2019 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Scotch Plains, NJ who attends Scotch Plains Fanwood. Primary pitcher, medium frame, athletic build with present functional strength. Creates momentum in delivery with gradually building tempo through release, sound use of the lower half with hip load at the top of the leg lift without creating a pause or break in the rhythm of the delivery. Creates good direction to the plate with the lower half, maintains driveline and shows athletic ability. Uses a smaller arm circle in the back that hides the ball well before delivering through a 3/4 arm slot, with an extended follow through out front. Fastball shows above average movement, that is commanded in the zone and manipulated well, sitting in the upper 70's-to-low 80's, topping at 81 mph. Also shows command of a sweeping slider with 2/8 shape that can reach both sides of the plate in any count. Solid two-pitch mix with above average command of both pitches presently. Good student.
