Kalen Hammer is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Windsor, CO who attends Rocky Mountain HS. Shorter athletic build with some wiry strength. 7.17 runner, has good footwork and balance in the infield, plays confidently working through the ball, can play on the move, fluid actions, arm works well and he makes accurate throws, next level defensive tools. Right handed hitter, rhythm approach, rocks back and in, swings hard and barrels the ball up, short swing with good hand quickness, high average approach. Also pitched, high 3/4's arm slot and gets some downhill angle, medium effort release, fastball topped out at 83 mph and missed barrels consistently. Sharp slider with good power and depth, knows how to pitch a bit. Nice all around athlete with a good approach to the game. Good student.
