Brian Lopes is a 2019 3B/RHP, MIF, OF with a 6-2 155 lb. frame from Jupiter, FL who attends The Benjamin School. The utility player has a tall and slender frame that has room to fill and projects to add strength. On the mound he has a balanced online delivery, compact arm action, and a tight release from a 3/4 slot. Pitching with tempo he worked his fastball up to 77 miles per hour that set up his slider. Slider at 68 has late break and sweeping action with a 10/4 arc. Impressive feel for the slider commanding it in the zone while also burying it when he needed to. On the infield he waited back on the ball, fielded with a quick transfer and showed the ability to throw from different slots. At the plate he has deliberate load, pulling his hands deep behind the body which allows him to be in the zone for a long time, flat path and good feel for contact. Great student.
