Nathan Goranson is a 2020 C/OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Millville, NJ who attends Millville High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to develop moving forward. Primary catcher, higher set behind the plate during drills, receives the ball out front and transfer into a lower slot with a compact release behind the plate; gains ground with lower half and strides slightly open with front foot, repeats actions and shows accuracy down to second base with solid arm strength and carry. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; loads hands back at start of swing. Upper body dominant swing and utilizes a gliding leg lift trigger for timing. Patient approach and shows quickness to hands, full and linear stroke through the zone and projects with additional weight shift through lower half; creates occasional lift when on time with hand load. Excellent student.
