Nicholas Gaitan is a 2019 3B/1B with a 6-2 230 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends North Atlanta. Extra large build, very physical prospect. Ran a 8.38 second 60 yard dash. Primary third baseman, took reps in the infield, sits back on ball and winds up to throw across, long release taking multiple extra steps, above average arm strength topping out at 88 mph across the diamond, projects as a corner infielder moving forward and with his arm strength could man third base routinely. Secondary first baseman, attacked the ball more quickly during first base drills, takes short steps to the ball, bounced off the first base bag quickly, quick footwork around the bag and on turns to second. Lefthanded hitter, long swing path finding barrels when on time, lots of strength to the swing, more strength than bat speed at this time but shows present juice and creates leverage as well, wore out the pull side during round with hard hit balls. Good student.
