Blayke Walsh is a 2016 2B/SS, 3B, OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Monument, CO who attends Lewis-Palmer HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders, projectable frame with some room to fill. Ran a 7.29 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, double tap release, consistently makes the play, hands works at the ball, low slot at release and shows ability to throw from multiple slots. Fields the ball out front in the outfield as well with short steps, short arm action with a small crow hop leading into tall release. Switch-hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set right-handed. Stays short to the ball and keeps hand in throughout. Pulls hands back at start of swing, shows bat speed through the zone with harder contact off the barrel. Similar stance from the left side, line drive contact, short path to the ball with a toe tap trigger. Gets the ball to the ball and creates contact to middle of field. Good student.
