Jack Boyle is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends Poly Prep Country Day. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Quick-twitch muscle and solid foot speed, posted a 6.65 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, short and quick steps moving towards the ball, fields the ball to side, works into a compact arm action and tight release from ear, shows carry and arm strength when on top of throws, occasionally gets under the ball, can incorporate additional lower half into release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Loads hands back at start of swing, long swing path through the zone with a contact oriented approach. Upper body dominant swing, best contact when working on a linear plane, comfort working to pull side but can go to all fields, longer finish through the ball. Excellent student.
