Jack Vonderhaar is a 2017 1B/OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Woodinville, WA who attends Redmond HS. Smaller frame with developing strength. Left handed hitter with a narrows stance and hanging leg lift trigger. Shows linear lower half actions to contact and attacks baseball out front. Swing creates some loft and primarily uses a mid-field approach. Has some barrel control with the ability to hit to all fields. Will develop the strength to reach gaps with physical development. Worked out defensively from first base and outfield. At first base shows smooth actions and footwork around the bag with a shorter arm action while throwing across the infield, topped at 69 mph. In the outfield shows a shorter overtop arm action the produces accurate throws topping at 73 mph. Shows athletic actions with fundamental footwork and smooth glove actions. Tools should continue to develop with physical develop. Good student as well.
