John Hawley is a 2018 3B/1B/OF with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from Virginia Beach, VA who attends First Colonial HS. Large frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Ran a 7.15 sixty-yard dash. Primary third baseman with smooth, deliberate footwork while ranging to and working through the baseball. Clean actions while funneling the baseball with a smooth tempo when working through transition. Generated softer carry across the infield with the ability to throw with accuracy from multiple arm slots. Right handed hitter with a very spread, even stance. Tucks elbow back at load creating slight coil. Hands launch on a loose, extended path to contact creating a lien drive plane through extension. Primary work to the middle of the field with developing barrel consistency. When on time to contact and squared, ball jumps with occasional carry to the pull side gap. Very good student.
