Travis Zurita is a 2017 OF/ with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Ozone Park, NY who attends Poly Prep Country Day. Medium, athletic frame with some present strength to frame and still has room to fill out with additional muscle mass. Very good runner, posted a 6.73 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, uses speed well when moving to the ball and shows sound footwork to get behind the ball and work through it, full arm action and gets on top well from a higher slot, sound actions and gathers the ball well out front. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide and slightly open stance in the box with a high back elbow. Small leg lift trigger for timing, short and quick path to the ball with upper body swing. Shows feel for the barrel and line drive contact with strength coming off barrel when lower half clears through swing. Loose hands and shows patient approach at plate with ability to hit to all fields. Reads pitcher well. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
