James Hrbek is a 2016 OF/3B, RHP with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Northvale, NJ who attends N Valley Reg H Old Tappan. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a strong build. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball with short steps, shows a short arm action with strength, tighter to body, gets on top of ball and generates carry to the bag. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot, high ball well coming through the backside with come whip, showed fastball in mid-70s with feel for an 11-5 curveball. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a small leg lift at start. Upper body swing, very short path to the ball with some leverage at contact. Line drive swing plane with a quiet load, projects with incorporation of lower half. Good student.
