Dalton McLain is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Greeneville, TN who attends Greeneville HS. Compact strong athletic build. 6.72 runner in the sixty, gets very good jumps on the bases with a quick first step. Has a loose arm in the outfield with a quick release on his throws, gets on top of the ball well with on line carry and good accuracy, centerfield tools on defense. Right handed hitter, spread open stance, doesn't get fully closed, stays on his backside at times, aggressive swing with a level to downhill swing plane, middle of the field contact, hitting tools to improve with adjustments. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a simple compact delivery. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action. Sweeping curveball. Good student.
