Clayton Wenske is a 2019 C/RHP/1B with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Victoria, TX who attends Victoria West HS. Medium athletic build with some present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread crouched stance with a limited shift, back side hitter, upper half rotational swing, hands stay tight and short to the ball and he controls the barrel well, middle of the field line drive contact. High arm slot throwing with a quick arm and quick release, can calm his hands down receiving the ball, 2.08 best pop time. Also pitched, works from a simple turn and throw delivery and throws strikes, showed good feel for a sweeping curveball that induced lots of weak swings. Fastball topped out at 79 mph and threw it to corners, fielded his position well. Should be able to pitch successfully at the high school level in addition to playing catcher. Good student.
