Michael Root is a 2006 OF with a 5'8'', 140 lb. frame from Elmore AL, who attends Stanhope Elmore HS. Michael has a lean body with an athletic build. He showed god speed in the sixty (7.05) and ran well on the bases and in the outfield during the games. Michael has a quick first step in the outfield and gets good jumps on balls. He throws from an over the top arm slot and gets some natural tail. Michael starts with balance in his stance and maintains balance throughout his swing. He has an inside out swing and uses a contact hitters approach. Michaels makes consistent contact and has bat speed. Michael has hidden strength in his swing. He is also a very good student.
