Chance Coker is a 2017 SS/2B with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Lovelady, TX who attends Groveton HS. Slender young athletic build, lots of room and time to get stronger. Runs very well and will get faster with physical maturity, 6.81 in the sixty. Shows good footwork in the field and moves well defensively, showed arm strength better on the mound and projects with his throwing, has middle of the field athleticism. Right handed hitter, shifts in well to contact, short swing with a good path to the ball, lacks the strength to drive it at present but handles the barrel well and makes line drive contact to all fields, high average approach. Well timed and paced delivery on the mound, good direction and balance throughout, loose whippy arm action with good arm speed. Low 80's fastball from the windup, topped out at 83 mph with good sinking action from a 3/4's arm slot. Tended to slow arm on slurve type curveball. Threw strikes and competed well. Good young athlete who will keep getting better with physical maturity. Good student.
