Art Nunez is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Eastlake HS. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Ran a 7.06 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions and pick up and maintains momentum toward target while working through transition. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot producing accurate carry to the bag at 85 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and toe tap trigger. Stays on back side throughout with rotational lower half actions to contact. Loose, extended hand path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Flashed good bat speed with strength at contact when on time and squared. Primarily worked between the gaps but flashed the ability to turn barrel and generated loud contact to pull side as well. Also pitched utilizing a smooth paced, high leg lift. Stays tall and balanced on back side prior to working to the plate with tall and fall actions. Deep arm circle at take back and released from an over top arm slot. Fastball created solid downhill tilt through the zone with occasional run in the low 80's, topped at 84 miles per hour. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with a curveball offering that showed 11/5 shape with solid spin and depth. Change created some arm side fade in the low 70's. Looked to attack the bottom of the zone and effectively changed speeds. Excellent student as well.
