Conor Taney is a 2016 3B/ with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Minot, ND who attends Minot. Larger atheltic frame with some present strength. Body projects for added future strength. Right handed hitter with a slight open, tall stance. Moves into contact well with a downhill swing plane. Tend to be tall on front side at times and creates top half contact. Compact line drive hand path to the baseball that results in loud, hard contact primarily to pull side. Shows good swing mechanics when staying back behind contact and creating extension through the zone. Worked from the infield shwoing a longer 3/4 arm slot. Shorter, deliberate footwork while surrounding the ball with smooth funneling actions with glove. Smooth tempo through transition and creates good direction with accuracy across the infield. Topped at 78 mph. Good student.
