Tyler Wilson is a 2018 1B/3B, RHP with a 6-5 212 lb. frame from Durham, NC who attends C E Jordan High School. Extra-Large frame, lean, slender build, athleticism, broad shoulders, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.21 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary first basemen, fielded the ball deep, clean footwork, and a very strong arm on feeds up to 85 mph. At the plate, started with a wide base, slightly open stance, medium hand set, and a toe tap timing mechanism. Low effort swing with a pull and up the middle oriented approach. Strength to drive with a line drive swing plane and ability to impact the barrel when timed. Raw bat speed with lift off the barrel. Also pitched, started with a leg raise to the belt, ability to change timing to plate, loose arm action, online landing, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Short stride to the plate with a finish towards first base. Tall through delivery and showing ability to get downhill. Fastball worked 80-82/83 mph with mostly true action and cut when working glove side. Athletic off the mound and worked both sides of the plate. Showed an 11/5 shaped curveball with depth and promising spin that should be used more often. Exceptional student. Named to Top Prospect List.
