Carlos Morales is a 2017 2B/SS with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Woodland Park, NJ who attends Passaic Valley Regional. Young, athletic build with a lean and projectable frame, has room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows quick twitch in defensive actions, fields the ball out front with nice actions, moves up the middle well, over the top slot with accuracy on throws across. Left-handed hitter, starts with a wide, slightly open stance and a high hand set. Quick hands with nice extension in swing and a high finish. Occasionally gets to front foot early, uses a leg kick trigger for timing, stays on the ball well and shows a line drive swing plane. Creates line drive contact and shows off contact skills with barrel feel and ability to use all fields. Good student.
