PG Grade: 7.5
Brendan Van Popering is a 6'3", 175 lb. right handed pitcher from Waxhaw, North Carolina, with 7.14 sixty speed on a very slow track. He has a good projectable pitcher's body with broad shoulders and long arms. Brendan threw an 83 mph fastball, 65 mph curveball, and a 68 mph change up. He has a free wheeling delivery that he repeats well, and a good loose arm circle that helps his future projection. Brendan throws consistent strikes and has thrown some impressive games in WWBA team competition. His fastball seems to jump on hitters, who are frequently late. Brendan's secondary pitches are still in the developing stages, although he will flash good spin on his 12/6 curveball on occasion. This is a pitcher who is easy to project adding velocity both because of his body and because of his mechanics and delivery. He is very athletic too.
