David Capobianco is a 2017 LHP/1B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Raynham, MA who attends Next Level Academy. Large frame with a strong, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Primary left handed pitcher with a short rock step to high leg kick delivery. Stays tall on backside and keeps weight over back leg. Utilized lower half well while working to the plate, lands in line with front side and clears hips well while rotating to finish. Released from a high three-quarters arm slot producing good downward plane with some arm side run on a fastball that topped at 81 miles per hour. Hides the baseball well at release creating quick, heavy actions through the zone. Curveball had 3/8 shape with good depth and sweeping action to glove side. Showed good feel for the curveball offering while maintaining arm speed, proved to be very deceptive to hitters. Also maintained arm speed with a changeup solid fading action to arm side. Mixed and matched all three pitcher consistently keeping hitters off balance and inducing weak contact throughout each inning of work.
