Tristan McCraw is a 2017 RHP/MIF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Magnolia, TX who attends Magnolia West HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a young look, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, shows twitch to delivery, high leg lift up past belt and slight spine tilt at top of delivery, shows a full and quick arm stroke through the back working to a three-quarters arm slot. Has some moving parts to delivery that help create deception, head remains on target throughout, fastball topped out at 85 mph, true in life but creates angle when working to glove side. Short stride down the mound, filled up strike zone and generates occasional running life to fastball on the hands of righthanded hitters. Will challenge with fastball, maintained arm speed on slider well early at 72 mph, across body finish through the pitch. Turned over changeup well at 71 mph, proper spin and and showed depth down in zone. Induced weak contact. Righthanded hitter, still start and shift into contact, upper body dominant swing, patient approach at the plate. Swings hard, contact approach at the plate, works the middle of the field with comfort. Named to South Uncommitted Top Prospect List. Very good student.
