Jonathan Hemings is a 2019 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-2 225 lb. frame from Duluth, GA who attends Lambert HS. Big and strong athletic build, pretty mature physically. Left handed hitter, hits from a wide base with good balance, has a good load and shift and is on time to contact, swings hard and looks to drive the ball, has bat speed and can impact the ball with authority, good swing mechanics for a power approach on a power body. 7.40 runner, has good hands at first base and reads hops well, quick feet in his pivots and footwork, moves well for his size, throws have carry. Also pitched, high leg raise delivery with good balance and tempo, bit cross body on release, hides the ball well, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action. Sweeping curveball with good depth and arm speed at release. Works quickly and throws strikes with both pitches. Power is his tool but other tools and skills are solid as well. Good student.
