Joseph Mendez is a 2016 OF/1B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Saugus, CA who attends Saugus. Medium frame, lean athletic build with room to fill. Hits from an upright setup in the box with a high leg kick, controls moving parts of swing well and lands softly on front foot, good mechanics with line drive swing plane. Made consistent hard contact in game at-bats and showed pullside power with a home run to left field. Long well coordinated strides in the outfield, long arm action that works well and projects, solid athlete who ran a sub 7.0 60 yard dash and has solid all around tools to go with physical projection.
