Ryan Boyle is a 2017 2B/RHP, SS with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Jackson, NJ who attends Jackson Memorial. Medium frame with lean, athletic build and very good projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.22 seconds. Sets up to hit from slightly open stance, upright with high back elbow set, has quickness to hands and therefore quickness to barrel, good fluidity in swing with feel to turn the barrel, made consistent contact mostly to the pull field, shows ability to go the opposite way in game as well. Worked out in the infield, fields out front cleanly with soft hands, has range to both sides both forehand and backhand, stays balanced for the most part, quick release across the diamond clocked up to 73 MPH. Pitched as well, whippy clean arm action to low three quarters slot, consistently pounded the arm side corner down in the zone with some sink on his fastball, which worked 70-74 MPH. CB shows good spin and break with mostly 10/4 shape, quality bat-missing pitch. Good student.
