Alex Barnes is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Suwanee, GA who attends Peachtree Ridge HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength with room for more. Right handed hitter, long and loose swing with a high finish, shows some bat speed and a good line drive swing plane, ball comes off the barrel pretty well when squared, projects well as a hitter. Has a good arm from the outfield with a smooth arm action, makes accurate on line throws, can lengthen stride for even more carry, sound footwork through the ball.. Also pitched, easy on line delivery from a compact arm action. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with good arm side running action, soft curveball with good depth and command.
