2015 South Top Prospect Showcase
Andrew Spencer is a 2016 OF/P, C, IF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Murphy, TX who attends Wylie. Medium, athletic build, lean and projectable frame with room to fill out, present quick-twitch muscle throughout frame. Very fast runner, posted a 6.65 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, very short and compact arm action, gets on top of throws well with quick arm action through the back, comes out of hand well and incorporates lower half, topped at 91 mph with best throw from outfield. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow. Small toe tap trigger at beginning of swing, aggressive approach with a line drive swing plane and feel for the barrel. Occasionally gets to front side early but creates consistent line drive contact middle to pull parts of the field, shows ability to go to opposite gap as well. Named to South Top Prospect List. Very good student.
