2016 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Josh Holt is a 2018 OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from McDonough, GA who attends Eagle's Landing Christian Academy. Medium frame with slender build; body projects for additional strength. Posted the best 60 yard dash time of the event, running an impressive 6.45 seconds. Sets up to hit from upright, slightly open stance with high back elbow and simple leg lift trigger. Stays compact with hands and barrel, good bat speed, does a very good job making line drive contact consistently; worked to all fields and showed some pop to the pull field as well. Good fluidity in swing. Worked out defensively in the outfield; covers a lot of ground thanks to speed. Fields well out front and works through the ball, throws uphill a bit and could stand to get lower half more involved in throwing mechanics, showed good accuracy and arm strength clocked up to 82 MPH. Named to 2016 Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List; very good student.
