Connor Strauss is a 2022 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Dover, DE who attends Smyrna. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Very good runner, 4.86 in the forty, moves well on defense with a quick first step and nice routes to the ball in the middle infield, sound lower half actions with good balance charging the ball, showed solid arm strength across the diamond and made accurate throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide stance with an easy lower half shift into contact, swing is short and direct with good hand quickness to start his swing, keeps his mechanics very simple and easy to repeat, middle of the field line drive contact, bat speed will continue to improve as he gets stronger. Also took a turn on the mound, stays well balanced over his backside and works down the mound well, generally consistent with occasional mis-timed hand break. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with good sinking life at times, curveball showed nice power and downer bite out of the same arm slot. Solid overall athlete, very good student. Named to the Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
