Tyler Wood is a 2019 C with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Radcliff, KY who attends Central Hardin HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, medium set behind the plate, utilizes lower half to gain ground out of the stretch, full arm action through the backside, gets on top of throws and shows carry down to second base with arm strength. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Does a nice job of staying balanced through swing and repeats mechanics well, shows a short and simple swing and projects with additional lower half weight shift incorporated. Generates consistent line drive contact and incorporates physical strength well with carry to pull side and ability to back spin. Very good student.
