Matt D'Amato is a 2019 OF/2B with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Midland Park, NJ who attends Bergen Catholic. Young, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes short and quick steps towards the ball, full arm action through the back and gets on top, shows effort at release, creates nice extension out front with looseness to arm, accurate to the bag with carry out of hand. Similar arm action in the infield, shows quick feet and balance moving to backhand, extra steps at release, comes out well when on top, quick transfer out of glove. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an upright and open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Strides on line with lower half, shows quick hands in swing and able to generate nice bat speed while showing pop to pull side. Natural lift to swing path and turns barrel well, middle to pull side approach. Very good student.
