John Hamill is a 2016 SS/RHP with a 6-4 193 lb. frame from Kinnelon, NJ who attends Kinnelon. Extra-large, athletic frame with a lean build and long limbs, projects well with added strength. Ran well, posted a 6.98 60-yard dash. Primary infielder, moves well on his feet for size, rounds the ball well and works through it, shows nice carry on throws across the diamond with more arm strength to come. Also pitched, works from a high three-quarter arm slot with a short arm action in the back. Gets on top of the ball well and uses height to create downhill plane. Quick arm with deception on fastball which he worked in the 77-79 mph range. Mixed in a 69 mph curveball and induced weak contact. Right-handed batter, starts with an upright stance, with a closed base. Upper half swing, short quick path to the ball, transfers weight well, creates line drive contact and shows a nice feel to go back up the middle. Very good student.
