Joe Cilea is a 2022 C/3B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Marlboro, NJ who attends Colts Neck. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 5.72 40-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front and shows a sound transfer out of glove, deliberate footwork and repeats mechanics well, on top of throws and shows accuracy, has tools to continue to improve upon. Sets feet well in the infield and remains light with footwork, shorter arm stroke on throws, effort at release but stays accurate across, soft hands out front fielding the ball. Switch-hitter, shows better fluidity to hands from the left side of the plate and turns on the ball well, natural feel in the box, occasionally gets out front at point of contact but controls the barrel. Upper body dominant swing from the right side, stays direct with barrel and hands and shows a simple swing, can implement additional weight shift through lower half, keeps hands with swing throughout. Excellent student. Named to the Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List.
