Joe Acker is a 2016 OF/MIF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Waukesha, WI who attends Marquette. Medium frame, athletic build with present strength. Right handed hitter with a spread, sligthly open stance and high elbow set. Shows linear lower half actions with solid shift into contact while maintaining balance throughout swing. Barrel launches on a compact plane and produces natural loft with extension allowing for all fields contact. Primarily uses a gap to gap approach, but also shows the ability to turn bat head to pitches inner half driving the baseball deep to pull side. Worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth feet while closing on baseball and through transition. Clean glove actions with smooth glove to hand exchanges. Topped at 94 mph from the outfield showing a smooth, long arm action from a three quarters slot. Throws produced plenty of carry with accuracy to the bag. Athletic actions throughout in the outfield with plus range to the gaps. Ran a 6.56 sixty-yard dash. Good student as well. Committed to the University of Nebraska. Named to the 2016 Pre-Draft Showcase Top Prospect List.
