2015 Caribbean Top Prospect Showcase
Kevin Rolon is a 2016 SS with a 6-3 160 lb. frame from Ponce, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy/HS. Large, athletic frame with long limbs, young look, and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 6.76 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, sound actions moving towards the ball, gets the glove down early, soft hands play at ball well, balanced actions and shows range to backhand, full arm action with present arm strength and carry across. Righthanded hitter, starts with a wide base and a high back elbow. Upper body swing, shows quickness to hands in the box, gets to front side early at times but barrel quickly gets to ball, short swing and flashes extension out front. Shows present bat speed and projects for more with strength, ball has some carry off the barrel when squared, high finish through the ball. Named to Caribbean Top Prospect List. Good student.
