Dan Devine is a 2016 C/3B/OF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Channahon, IL who attends Joliet Catholic Academy. Big and strong build for his age, well proportioned strength. Good blocking skills behind the plate, uses his big body well, has some hip looseness and foot quickness, can soften his hands receiving the ball, nice short transfer and release throwing, good arm strength. Right handed hitter, open to closed approach, rotational upper body swing, long muscled swing approach, best contact when his arms are extended, best contact pulling the ball, showed well against live pitching when he shortened up his swing, has the strength to hit for big power. Very good student.
