Elijah Lopez is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 5-7 150 lb. frame from New Braunfels, TX who attends Canyon HS. Lopez has a medium sized frame with a compact build. He showed good speed by running a 6.71 in the sixty and used it in game on the base paths and tracking balls well in the outfield with range. Lopez attacks the ball well in the outfield and has quick transfers and release. He has developing actions through the baseball and has a max effort release with arm strength up to 79 MPH. At the plate Lopez starts with a square stance with a high back elbow and high hand set. His hands stay tight in his swing and has a high finish. He has a middle of the field approach and put good swings on the baseball in game. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. He threw an 11/5 curveball with some shape to it. Good student.
