John Cupps is a 2017 1B/OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Moore, OK who attends Moore. Has thick build with broad shoulders. Hit from a square stance, starts with a high hand high back elbow, pull approach with lift at contact. Line drive swing plane with strength in swing. Ball carries well off barrel. Made hard contact during BP and during the game. Defensively, advanced feel for playing first base, hands work well and plays short hop well. Has a whippy arm action and fielded out front. Good Student.
