Patrick Irish is a 2017 C/1B/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from St. Augustine, FL who attends Allen D Nease HS. Irish has a large frame with a thick strong build. Defensively he threw his pop throws from a side saddle set up and came out of the chute early. Irish throws with a longer arm action and has a fairly quick release. He showed arm strength up to 77 MPH on his pop throws with online carry. Irish showed some footwork around the bag at first base in the workout as well. Irish is a switch hitter, from the right side he starts with a high hand set and uses a toe tap trigger to start his swing. He generates a lot of torque in his swing and made consistent loud contact with good bat speed. Irish has some power with even more coming from the right side. From the left side, he has some bat speed and some pop. He is a bit longer from the left side, but still handles the bat well. Excellent student, named to Top Prospect Team.
