Caleb Lauvetz is a 2016 C with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Kansas City, MO who attends Rockhurst HS. Big, strong build with broad shoulders and an overall large frame that still projects physically. Stands square to home plate when hitting, hits from a relaxed stance with a slight leg lift trigger. Drops hands into load then fires forward into a line drive swing plane with solid bat speed. Very aggressive approach, swings hard, tries to pull the baseball but did show ability to go back up the middle. Crouches behind home plate into a slightly higher set, shows compact actions throughout reception of baseball and throwing down to 2nd base. Gains ground well and showcased a solid, accurate arm. Popped a 1.97 and topped out at 78 MPH during catcher workouts. Showed solid receiving skills and footwork. Very good student.
