Tate Ellison is a 2014 1B/RHP with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Lubbock Christian. Has a large frame with a good strong build. Has good soft hands with a smooth glove at first base with lateral ability. Starts with an open stance at the plate with a high back elbow and a patient approach. Has a short swing at the plate who is a gap to gap hitter with bat speed and pop in his bat. On the mound he pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action, and has a deceptive delivery which he repeats. Works quick on the mound with arm side run on his fastball and throws strikes. Is an excellent student.
