Sam Cooper is a 2017 RHP/ with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Keene, NH who attends Keene HS. Large frame, long lean pitcher's build with strength in both halves. Broad shoulders, long limbs, some room to project. Works to a 3/4's arm slot, slightly closed landing and crossfire release with small head snap. Fastball up to 83 mph in the early innings, shows natural tailing life and strong sinking action down in the strike zone. Solid downhill angle on fastball, can be quality pitch at the knees. Breaking ball with varied shape, showing more true slider tilt for most of outing although some had more depth and 11/4 shape. Can locate slider for strikes and induce chases out of the zone. Flashed a rare changeup with some fading action to the armside. Good student.
