Nicholas Crane is a 2016 C/ with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Churchville, PA who attends Council Rock South. Smaller frame with broad shoulder and solid build. Projects from additional size with strength. Right handed hitter with an open stance, high back elbow set and a high leg lift trigger. Strides to a closed position at contact. Flashes quick hands with a compact path to contact that generates a slightly uphill swing plane. Shifts back side through contact while hitting from a taller front side. Shows a mid-field approach with the ability to level off swing path to a line drive plane with hitting the ball to the opposite field. Worked out defensively from behind the plate showing a low set while receiving out front. Generates solid momentum out of set to an upright release point. Shows a quick glove to hand transfer with quick footwork. Short, compact arm action from a lower slot that produces some carry. Athletic tools behind the plate that will continue to develop with fludity. Good student as well.
